As if it would matter if he was on the ballot in Texas... If he's not on the ballot, he won't waste any time here. And if he spends time here, it is wasted which is fine with me because then he can't spend his time in states that really do matter in the general election. I don't have a problem with Nader campaigning here; I just don't want him campaigning in Florida or New Hampshire again. Posted by: Mathwiz at February 25, 2004 03:38 PMA legitimate point, Karl-Thomas, but I think that preventing Nader from getting on the Texas ballot would be significant in terms that Texas is the first deadline. If Nader succeeds in Texas, he'll have more momentum to get on the ballot in other states. If we stop him in Texas and in other early deadline states, I think that it's more likely that Nader will give up entirely (which is my prefered outcome). Posted by: Byron L at February 25, 2004 04:53 PMI'm sympathetic to those wanting to keep the Green Meanie off the ballot. Nader deserves to get as much trouble as he has caused. Those GOPers who sign cannot then vote in the Rep. primary. I am not so sure they can get the sigs given the disenfranchisement from the primary. Then again, those Rethugs will sign the Petition and vote in the Rep. primary anyway (since when have Rethugs played by any rules?) and will, in reality, never get caught. (we are unable to amend our nafta agreement due to our participation in the wto) Kucinich supports all progressive causes, but due to lack of media coverage, Nader thinks Democrats are weak.
