January 04, 2006Texas 41, USC 38By Byron LaMastersWe won. Hell yeah. Kick ass. Go UT! I'm elated. What a game! And did I mention the Vince Young is amazing? He certainly made his point. And finally, Mack Brown can stand proud to his critics. I may not be able to join Rick Perry in being proud of his "Texas", but I'll stand with Vince Young and Mack Brown and their leadership this year. Congrats Longhorns! We're damn proud of you... Go Longhorns! Posted by Byron LaMasters at January 4, 2006 11:42 PM | TrackBack

Good game, but rrrrr! Amazing, though. But please, keep the gloating to a minimum. Gig 'Em, er, Hook 'Em. Posted by: Sirena at January 5, 2006 08:17 AM
National champs, y'all!! Go Vince! Hook 'em!!! Posted by: Andrea Meyer at January 5, 2006 09:20 AMUmmmm...how do you expect your post to be seen as coherent when you try to tie the governor into a UT victory? Or are you disappointed that the governor said he's not gay? LOL Well I got my prediction of USC points right at 38, just was wrong on the UT part. Congrats to Vince Young. HE is a hell of a team :-) Posted by: John at January 5, 2006 09:49 AMClass act: Young, doesn't gloat. Bums: White and Bush, shouting at the camera: Class act: Texas coach, talking to Bush, telling him he was unstoppable. Bum: the Hollywood type, stylish USC coach: "I still think we're the better football team. Class act: Weise, visiting the USC locker room after the ND game, telling them "congrats, hope you go all the way. Bottom line: they sure as hell didn't. Congrats, Texas and fans. P.S. The missed call on the Texas touchdown - balanced by the missed call on the clear interception that allowed USC to score. A tiny gloat: to the cat who posted USC 38, Texas 10. Wheee!!!!!!!!!! Posted by: Jesus B. Ochoa at January 5, 2006 09:51 AMAnn Coulter Sean Hannity Hook 'Em. Lat night when the game was over, through the closed window, I heard wild erruptions in my neighborhood that warmed the cockles of my heart. Whoops, screams and screetches of joy and exultation were heard far and wide in this sedate whitebread subdivision of San Antonio. Then, about 15 minutes later, I heard joyful male voices serenading the street with The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You. Now, why can't these same guys vote Dem? Posted by: dksbook at January 5, 2006 11:11 AM"...then, about 15 minutes later, I heard joyful male voices serenading the street with The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You. Now, why can't these same guys vote Dem?" The answer is simple: They were celebrating the UT victory, not conducting a Gay Pride Parade..LOL Vince Young proved you can make the impossible happen if you have to do is have the magic and know how to use it! Posted by: David Wilkins at January 5, 2006 12:26 PMI, like most folks, seem to still be reliving this game. It took me a while to believe it actually happened -- I think it wasn't until I was watching SportsCenter at 2 in the morning that it started sinking in. Greatest game ever. Hook 'em. Posted by: Phillip Martin at January 5, 2006 01:00 PMWhere did you get all this bs, Jesus? Matt Leinart made the better team comment anyway (which honestly if hes talking about "team" hes right). And define "gloat"? I saw Vince doing plenty of posing after they won.
Posted by Jesus B. Ochoa at January 5, 2006 09:51 AM John, Texas is never classy despite all their hype to the contrary. That being said, Texas was the better team last night. They have a much better defense and their offense is good enough with a great player to win. Posted by: Double B at January 5, 2006 04:55 PMLet's not forget how much the offensive line dominated. Young had great holes and plenty of time to both make passes and keep the run a dangerous and bewildering option for the USC defense. Young executed many of the offensive plays rapidly, but I'll bet some of that feeling of "speed" was due to the magnificent protection of the line. In this age where hype and publicity surround the QB, RB positions, I really want to recognize those often unsung heroes of amazing girth. Posted by: Ramey at January 5, 2006 06:37 PMThe answer is simple: They were celebrating the UT victory, not conducting a Gay Pride Parade..LOL OMG GOOD 1 LOL Posted by: Fine Bottled Water at January 6, 2006 12:22 AMIm still baffled as to why Texas's fight song is Ive Been Working On The Railroad :) Posted by: John at January 6, 2006 09:59 AMJohn, The Eyes of Texas is NOT our fight song. If you watched the Sugar Bowl, however, you probably noticed that Georgia's fight song is I've been working on the railroad. Posted by: Sal D at January 6, 2006 05:12 PM
