"Andy Brown is running for Texas House District 48 against the Republican incumbant Todd Baxter." Actually, Brown is running for the Democratic nomination to take on Todd Baxter. It's August, people. Posted by: rwj at August 10, 2005 08:51 AMIs that how you spell "incumbant"? Posted by: Spiffy at August 10, 2005 08:58 AMRWJ, As far as I know, Andy is the only Dem that has declared in District 48. If you know of someone else that is running, by all means let me know. Posted by: Damon C at August 10, 2005 11:25 AMWho is he and why should I volunteer for him? Basic questions. Joel, Andy's new website will premier later today or tonight. I will probably post on it later -Damon Posted by: Joel at August 10, 2005 11:31 AMSomeone said that Donna Howard was running. Don't know if thats true. Posted by: David at August 10, 2005 12:12 PMHugh Brady is another possible candidate. Posted by: PGH at August 10, 2005 01:36 PMI've heard that Howard Dean's young nephew Hobie Dean may make the race, too. He's very bright and energetic like his uncle. He's also very good at screaming and yelling down those crazy clown republicans. i think we need a candidate that will just go nuts in the election. no easy stuff. Hobie Dean would be perfect! i don't think andy brown has enough charisma. way too lame and dorky. plus, he doesn't even live in the district!! i heard he lives in naishtait's. what the hell is up with that?!!? Vote HOBIE DEAN nexy march cuz we're not stopping until we go to balcones dr, 2222, Loop 360, far west, mesa dr, west 35th street YEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
It's actually "incumbent", spiffy. Posted by: bluebonnet at August 10, 2005 03:53 PMYeah, I finally got to a computer so I could fix it. Don't worry, I plan to profile Andy soon so everyone knows where he is. If there are any other declared candidates out there, have them email me and I will include them. Posted by: Damon C at August 10, 2005 04:09 PMI would support him if it weren't for the fact that I think Todd Baxter is a much better man. Posted by: warmi at August 10, 2005 05:14 PMhey i simply have to know more about hobie dean. is this for real? where's he from, what does he do, etc? i agreee that andy brown looks lame and weak. shit, his website is begging for money and yet we have no bio, issues, or jack squat!! i think a guy like dean would be perfect. we democrats need to get more fired up. we need more crazy radical and incendiary candidates. kerry was too tame and brown would be the same. no more SAME TAME ass dems. we need fire and passion. i believe we can not get either a. too liberal, b. too aggressive, c. too "anti american" to quote the republicans, or d. too socialistic. hobie dean is my man. who the hell is this andy brown. if its brown flush it down. dude, wake out austin!!!! to take back dist 48 you need a hard core "wacko" libby. i mean someone that will eat nothing but granola, wear burlap, and save the earth and her resources. i agree with the idea of taking this race to every street in the district. go to them all. of, and tell andy brown that he DOESNT EVEN LIVE IN THE DISTRICT. that's bull man. i hope hobie at least has an apartment on far west or something. please!! Jorge, as I told Kim above, Andy does live in the district near 2222 and Mesa. As I said in a previous comment, the new site will be launched later tonight. -Damon C Posted by: Jorge at August 10, 2005 07:35 PMIf this is what Andy's website looks like, I can't wait to see his TV. Most importantly, I can't wait until Baxter's wife attacks Andy's grandmother for being a "man hating bitch." Ladies and Gentlemen, I know they say all is fair in love and politics, but I would ask everyone to refrain from involving the candidate's families on either side. There is no place for that sort of thing in this discussion. Andy Brown certainly lives in District 48 and has for some time. No question about it. Baxter (who is my state rep) is an indecent man in every sense of the word; he embodies for me what is wrong with Republicans in Texas. I'm very excited Andy Brown has put his name out into the field, and I hope my once strongly Democratic distict will be known as such. Jack Stick isn't the only one who can be beaten by an willing, able, and qualified opponent. Damon- put in a good word for Red Bull. Posted by: David B at August 10, 2005 10:53 PMAndy Brown is a good guy and is going to be a great candidate for District 48. You all should be excited that he is going to be in the race. And, as far as people saying we need a crazy liberal to win 48, you've obviously never walked the neighborhoods of 48 or talked to people who live in the district. They aren't that liberal, but it doesn't mean that they won't vote for someone like Andy who will do a good job and help them. Andy would be the perfect Democrat to serve its residents. Kelly White came close this past year, let's help Andy win. Posted by: Marcus Ceniceros at August 10, 2005 11:12 PMUhm, Damon, Rick Perry's Comb's comment was a reference to Baxter's wife calling White a "lying male hating liberal." It was even blogged about on this site. And what's with the need to respond to every comment by editing the comment? Posted by: Fine Bottled Water at August 11, 2005 01:34 AM
