LOL. Its like that Simpsons' episode where the entire town comes out for "Whacking Day". But with effigies! Is it really a W pinata? Posted by: Chris at September 15, 2004 10:09 AMYes, hurry to the event. Let us endeavor of spice up the Curry Campiagn before it gets anymore dish-tasteful. It is so much fun to see the Left spoil right in front of the eyes of the world. And along with C-BS too. Is there more in your kitchen, now that you have thrown out the kitchen sink? Posted by: Horace Bunce at September 15, 2004 10:22 AMLook, I'm as fervent in my belief that a second term for W. will be disastrous for our country as anyone else, but I find this idea to be in poor taste. There are so many real things that need to be debated in this campaign that we don't need to turn it into GWB = Satan. Let our rhetoric be reasoned and sharp, let us bring attention to the intellectual dishonesty of this administration. But I fail to see how this type of event will ultimately do anything but convince Republicans that all we are about is hate for one man. It was unfair when Clinton was demonized and it's counter productive. I shudder to think about the footage of this ending up on Fox News. Posted by: Mike at September 15, 2004 10:37 AMIt seems as if everytime YCT pulls some stunts, liberals react with outrage (well, because some of their stunts are outrageous, others are actually quite creative). When liberals try to have a little fun and make a little noise, the left worries what FOX News will think... we're just a bunch of students trying to get students involved in politics by mixing in a little humor and fun. Posted by: Byron L at September 15, 2004 12:22 PMoh geez... the sky must be falling. I'm going to defend Byron. If you're offended by libs beating a pinata that looks like Bush, you need to grow some thicker skin. Its just kids having fun and raising money. I think its funny and not poor taste. Probably a good way to get foot traffic to stop and pitch in a couple of bucks. Especially if there's good candy inside. None of that cheap dollar-store stuff. =) Posted by: Chris at September 15, 2004 12:58 PMWell, I didn't say it wouldn't be funny... Re-reading my grumpy old man comment, I think I was having a bad morning. And I am usually one of the first to complain about the political correctness police being oversensitive. So party on, and whack him good for me (using your $2 of course). But I guess we do have to admit that those purple band-aids were pretty funny too, right? Right? (Btw, I swear I'm not a troll. I really enjoy this site and all the information you provide that I can't find anywhere else) Posted by: Mike at September 15, 2004 03:19 PMIt WILL look like you guys are full of hate for bush. I mean, if it looks like bush and you are beating it with a stick... that pretty much says it all. but party guys. i'll be watching fox for it. Posted by: proud infidel at September 15, 2004 04:16 PM
