Of course, there was a time when John Kerry was launching F-bombs as well. But, then again, Kerry said it in an interview when he was frustrated at the height of Dean's success. I'm personally astonished that the press continues to pay attention to a man who calls himself "Dick" in the first place. What could be more profane? I'm no feminist but the evocation of a phallic reference through one's name is outlandish, anti-family, and downright un-American in my thinking. Shame on you Mr. Vice President! The media are treating this like its a freakin nuclear war- the CNN correspondent had this serious look on his face and in a breathless tone reported "We have confirmed that VP Cheney used profanity on the floor of the Senate..." Jeez. I mean, I say the f-word all the time. I even rather frequently tell people to go fuck themselves. Cheney is a human being and while I hate his guts I could give a shit as to whether or not he says "fuck." The great thing about this is that Cheney's biggest scandal isn't that he lied to the country in a manner that led to almost 1000 dead soldiers or that he is somewhere in the middle of revealing the identity of a critical intelligence officer or that he let the oil industry write our energy policy or that he is still collecting checks from a company that has bilked taxpayers out of millions of dollars but that he said a naughty word.
