August 25, 2003Remember the dead and work like hell for the living...By Jim DallasFrom a friend, "Obituary backs 'removal of Bush'" -- When Sally Baron's family wrote her obituary, they described a northern Wisconsin woman who raised six children and took care of her husband after he was crushed in a mining accident. The full obituary can be found here. Posted by Jim Dallas at August 25, 2003 01:04 AM | TrackBack

Well, this is sure newsworthy. I'm glad my Grandma was not stupid enough to express her feelings of hate toward Clinton on her deathbed or absolute love towards Bush in her obituary. This woman had just a little hate inside her....its a shame that late in life and so close to the end. Posted by: don at August 25, 2003 09:11 AMHer final statement of this life, the summation of what she stood for, is to be a spiteful gesture against GW Bush? What a disgraceful family. Remind me to write my own epitaph now, lest a similar indignity be inflicted on my dead body. Posted by: Mark Harden at August 25, 2003 04:50 PMFirst, it was her family that included the request for donations to be made for ousting Dubya in her name, not the deceased. Secondly, even if it had been her dying wish (which was never stated), at least it would have been in the hopes of creating a better world for her family. She was pretty much right on the money, Dubya is a liar and an abomination to Christianity. Moving on... I think I'll start to use her little posthumous quote from that article in my signature from now on... "Oh, Bush, he's such a whistle ass!" - Sally Baron, RIP Posted by: Dan Funderburke at August 26, 2003 07:38 AMFirst, it was her family that included the request for donations to be made for ousting Dubya in her name, not the deceased. That's why I blamed her family, for disgracing her memory with a petty, vindictive gesture. For those people, their irrational hatred of GW Bush even trumps the significance of their own mother's death. Pathetic, really. Posted by: Mark Harden at August 26, 2003 09:15 AMCan you exaggerate what was actually written just a little more, Mark? It was one line among many at the very end. This is no summation of her life, if you read the entire obituary. Posted by: Tx Bubba at August 26, 2003 10:03 AMThis is no summation of her life, if you read the entire obituary. I did not state there was an explicit summation in the obituary. I wrote "Her final statement of this life, the summation of what she stood for, is to be a spiteful gesture against GW Bush?" i.e., the request for donations to oppose Bush is a symbolic summation of what her life meant. God forbid my own obituary should ever end with such a mundane, temporal memorial. Posted by: Mark Harden at August 26, 2003 12:52 PMDubya is a liar and an abomination to Christianity. Yes, yes, we all know about the Sixteen Words, although some of us wonder whatever happened to the impeachment trial. But, if I may ask - are you a Christian? Posted by: Mark Harden at August 26, 2003 12:53 PMThanks for the site, good read! Keep up the good work! Posted by: christmas gift ideas at September 11, 2004 09:09 AM
