Greg Abbott's men peek into little old lady's bathroom window

by: PDiddie on Tue Sep 19, 2006 at 13:22:51 PM CDT

You can't make this up:

According to the sworn statement of Ms. Gloria Meeks (.pdf file), a 69 year-old Fort Worth community activist, two of (Texas Attorney General Greg) Abbott’s voter fraud agents came on to her property and looked into her bathroom window while she was unclothed and leaving the shower. Incredibly, the agents justified their privacy violation by explaining that they thought they were peeping in the “kitchen window.”

The blogosphere has taken note:

Abbott run amok

AG Greg Abbott's staff accused of being Peeping Toms

And even the corporate media has noticed:

Some say voting law being used to scare minorities

Poll
What would you do if you caught Greg Abbott peeking in your bathroom window?
Scream
Wonder he got out of his wheelchair
Ask him if he wants to take pictures
Shoot him in the face, Dick Cheney style

My, my...looks like BOR.. (1.66 / 3)
might have merged with Dem Underground. First calling voter fraud investigators, "Gregg Abbott's" men...then both making fun of Abbott's disability (would this have passed if someone made fun of Barbara Jordan's disability when she was alive, or Max Cleland's disability?- talk about major liberal hypocrisy), as well making a remark about shooting him in the face.

What would be the reaction if someone brought up how Van Os got his tail whipped by Abbott in the Supreme Court race, played a major role in the Burkett "forged records case" and had a complaint filed against him through the EEOC by his own employees for daring to organize a union at his law office?

Then again, liberals love to give their own a free pass.

Agreed
What the hell is the point of that insult? It only distracts from the story -- which is the more important part anyways.

Well, given that the Lone Star Project...
is currently the only source, I'm skeptical...until we see it come in a mainstream source like the Chronicle or the Dallas Morning News.

And who the hell would wanna peep at a 69 year old in the first place? Anyone with "Granny fantasies" who would work in a state agency needs a mental health examination, regardless of whose administration they're working for. I'm 28 years old, and 35's my maxiumum limit. (with 20 being the minimum).

Hmmm
Point well taken about the insult,
However in defense of the Lone Star Project, their record of accuracy is impeccable. Furthermore, it is not the only source, and regarding your comments alluding to perversion, I really don't think the actual implication is that they were peeping toms in the classical sense, just violating an individual’s right to privacy in the form of general all around partisan scumminess.
Surely you wouldn't defend the actions of these Voter Fraud Investigators

Dear sweet boy
you are so missing out. I'm 46 and 26 is my limit.

I have reference. That are your age.

Guess we won't ever be on a date....
you'd have to give me about 10 more years before I'd hit the 46-year old dating mark...although I almost dated a 40 year old a year ago..LOL

It's called humor
A topic I knew sfag had no familiarity with, but which I thought you did...

So what did you vote for in the poll, Phil?

LOL...sfagrad has no humor....
the Democrats running a man who is blaming Tom Delay for an African American beating him out in the Democratic congressional primary is enough to make me laugh all the way to the polls. Like I've said time and time again, I'm voting for Werner, but it's inevitable that Perry (heaven forbid) will win another term.

So, you looking forward to a 5th election with Democrats only getting so far as dreaming again? (After all, they did put together a "Dream Team" in 2002 and a "dream" is what they got in the end...LOL)

My bad.... (0.00 / 0)
it was in the Chronicle. Had to make a retraction, being the journalism minor I had in my studies at SFA.

the story ran in the mainstream press (4.00 / 4)
The Houston Chronicle and SA Express News broke the story in the major dailies. And there is more.

With or without the insult, this is serious stuff. There are abuses and vote suppression and fraud that needs to be investigated - witness the program Princeton engineers unveiled this week that shows how easy it is to hack into "secure" electronic voting systems to steal votes.
See the video at http://itpolicy.prin...

However, elederly minority women appear to be the special focus of Abbott's self-proclaimed voter fraud effort that is diverting sorely needed federal anti-crime funds improperly to conduct a selective, targeted PR campaign that so far involves only 50 ballots out of millions cast, most of which were not cast fraudulently.

But what do you expect from a guy who got rich from filing a tort claim after a tree fell on him, then pulled up the ladder behind him in the name of "tort reform"?

Abbott won lawsuit money for his accident (3.00 / 2)
And has worked tirelessly since then to make sure no one else got their fair day in court. I don't pity him one bit, he doesn't want it and he doesn't deserve it.  This is extremely disturbing behavior for a man who holds the office that's supposed to be the Attorney General for the people of Texas.  He seems to be targeting  Democrats and specifically targeting minorities.  He's just a sick partisan hack and a perv to boot.
