Comments: More on Zig-Zag Zell

If it looks like a pig, sounds like a pig, and smells like a pig, it's a pig, even if it calls itself a [yellow] dog. Zell is a Republican and that's all there is to it.

You got me.

I mean, I can defend a guy (question his motives of course but still defend) who votes with the GOP a half of the time, or twothirds of the time. Actually, Miller's ACU score is pretty low for a "Republican" (but outrageously high for a Democrat).

I can generally try and ignore eating-your-own. Lieberman does it all the time. We're not trying to kick him out.

I wasn't upset to see Zell speak at the NRA convention a couple years back.

But the convention would be TOO MUCH. The fact of the matter is that a convention is for partisans only. You don't call yourself a Democrat while giving a speech at the He-Man's Democrat Haterz Club (also known as the Republican Party.)

Here's a challenge: Kerry should offer Miller a speech at the Democratic convention conditioned on Miller not appearing at the GOP convention. Yeah, Miller will whine and moan and be a pest. But at least it would be classy to make the invite.

Zell is on iggy, stays on iggy. Kerry shouldn't utter his name let alone invite him to do anything. That's exactly what Zell would want and then hold a press conferance to denounce Kerry more.

Well technically, Zell is a delegate (superdelegate) to the Democratic National Convention. Is there some sort of conflict of interest issue involved if he, as a delegate to the Dem convention speaks at the GOP convention? Would it be grounds to officially kick him out of the Party?
