Kerry/McCain ain't gonna happen.
The Deaniacs simply won't accept somebody with views like McCain's on the 2004 ticket.
Hell, Kos doesn't even like folks like Max Baucus and Tom Daschle because they lack ideological zeal. And they are actually DEMOCRATS.
McCain and Kerry are probably just having some fun at the expense of Karl Rove and wistful pundits.
Posted by Tim Z at May 27, 2004 05:30 PMI don't actually think it is the Deaniacs that would have a problem. I'm a Deaniac and I don't really have all that much of a problem with it. I think what you mean is that the libeal core of the Democratic Party (like the ones over in the Kucinish camp) would have a problem. Dean people, and even Nader people to a degree like McCain because he represents, at least to a degree, independence from the traditional party politics.
Dean people are Dean people not because they are crazy ass stoned liberal, but because they came together around the idea of change. A Kerry/McCain ticket would strike at the heart at politics as usual in that sense.
