Isn't a GWBush library an oxymoron?
Posted by Jason Young at March 25, 2004 09:58 PMI'm glad to see that not a single mayor from my home county of Gillespie, not any of the surrounding counties of Llano, Mason, Kimble, Kerr, or Kendall are on that list, and that has to be some of the most Republican counties in Texas.
Posted by Karl-T at March 26, 2004 01:30 AMGiven the amount of serious reading he does, you could probably fit all his books in some spider hole near Crawford.

Posted by lord marmite at March 26, 2004 09:31 AMIt would be pretty stupid for UT to refuse a presidential library if available, Byron. Love him or hate him, these four years are going to be very important (and very studied) in the future. Having the collection of presidential papers for this period at UT would be a major coup.

Dubya, with an assist from the Supremes, already has been the source of one coup, back in 2000.
Well, hopefully there will be a duplicate set of papers next year in the Democratic Attorney General's office in preparation for the prosecution.
But if the damn thing HAS to be in Texas, I can't think of a more appropriate place than Baylor. Can someone remind me why Connecticut didn't want it?
