Posted by Brady at November 26, 2003 10:34 PMHehe, actually Brady, the CD is mounted on the impactor, which means it crashes into a comet at thousands of miles per hour, vaporizing it instantly. Although the idea is that, hopefully, it will leave a greasy spot on the comet, which is the indelible mark we should all be hoping to leave behind in this universe.

Comet hunting is one of the few remaining ways that amateurs can make a major contribution to science.
