Nobody ever reads that part in the Constitution about all bills (spending) of attainder originating in the House of Representatives...which has a Republican majority, and the Senate which has a one vote Republican majority. Dubya's domestic policy is in disarray, there's no denying that, for refusing to veto a single spending bill, including an increase of 20% in the Department of Education's budget (so is he not spending enough, spending too much, or just not spending it as smartly as a Democrat President would?)

The question of casulties ducks the real question - is it worth it or not? We took three hundred casulties in the first minute of the D-Day invasion. That question in turn hinges on denying any connection between Saddam Hussein and the terrorist networks that have murdered and killed Americans for years (see the capture of the mastermind of the Achille Lauro). We're not even getting into the Al-Qaeda issues, which the Washington Post had a masterful article on today about Mr. Zarqawi's setup of an Al-Qaeda cell in Baghdad back in February and his treatment at a clinic run for Baathist big shots...

Keep your heads in the sand, guys.
