On one hand, I want to back you up.

And on the other hand, I have to ask, what the heck does this have to do with Iran?

In any case, I'm inclined towards gratitude. Breaking quorum is a once-a-century deal that happened twice in one year, and every senator who left town really stuck his/her neck out.

For his holiday weekend sneak back into Texas, Sen. Whitmire left in the middle of the night and without warning his colleagues, that's true.

The following Tuesday, he returned to New Mexico and had a three-hour meeting with the other ten truant state senators. He did his best to persuade them that they are doing the Democratic Party and the Texas Senate more harm than good; obviously, they weren't persuaded, but he did try. He then took an early evening flight back to Houston -- the Chronicle had a nice picture of him in an aisle seat, but conspiracy theorists will note that it was on the RIGHT side of the plane! -- where he was met at Hobby Airport by his old friend, Congressman Gene Green (D-Texas).

I know you're just repeating the "left in the middle of the night without consultation" meme that some of the Dems still in NM have used. The question is, why are they still saying that, when they know it's not true?
