Comments: Another GOP Closet Case Hypocrite?

The hypocrisy runs rampant among heterosexual Republicans, too, of course -- always has.

Grand Prairie Republican state legislator and chairman of the House Corrections Committee Ray Allen proudly accepted a "Christian of the Year" award at his party's state convention in San Antonio a few weeks ago -- even though he has been living in Austin (not in his own district) with his young female committee clerk for most of the past year while his estranged wife remains in the home they shared for more than 20 years back in Grand Prairie.

This should surprise no one. It's the status quo for Republicans. You say one thing but do another. And I know Burnt Orange won't mention it but I will --- there is still the Texas issue of the same caliber.

Maybe Ed Schrock was just on the DL (Down Low). It's the in thing to do! That's why he put a personal on a chat line. Having his wife and kids know he might be getting some on the side would seriously hamper his sex life. He knew all the catch phrases, though, so I think he's been on the DL for a while.

The GOP poster boy for hypocrisy in this area was Congressman Robert Bauman of Maryland.
This former head of the Young Americans for Freedom was noted for gratuitous anti-gay remarks on the floor of the House. However those remarks came to an abrupt halt when he was arrested for trying to pick up a 16 year old male prostitute in the early 1980s.

Hypocrisy is a Republican Party staple.

If you viewed last night's Convention and saw Giuliani "thank God" that W was President on 9/11...it's laughable. Gee Rudi...you mean Gore wouldn't have been able to sit paralyzed in a classroom for 7 minutes and then duck out for the entire day..refusing to lead the country? And then promise us later that we'd get Osama "dead or alive"....and three years later still not have the guy? Or Gore couldn't have managed to invade a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11 based on lies and then proceed to completely botch it up?

And McCain? Holy cow. So much for being one of the few in the GOP that isn't a Party shill.

Reportedly Mr. Schrock is resigning effective January. So there's still plenty of time, as the old joke goes, before this Congressman needs to start using a bookmark (instead of bending over the pages).
