May 31, 2005Update on the Pending KBH AnnouncementBy Byron LaMastersEarlier today I posted that news had been leaked that KBH will be announcing for Governor next week. A personal source of mine in the media has also confirmed that KBH will be in Austin for a press conference next week most likely related to her 2006 intentions and likely run for governor. The Dallas Morning News editorial board blog also pegs their "Hutch-O-Meter" as maxed out at a 100% chance that KBH runs for governor. Also on the DMN blog is an email from a reader who claims to have spoken to several Republican judges in Dallas county. The reader claimed that those unnamed judges were "eager" to see KBH at the top of the 2006 ticket. I don't know the validity of the source, but it is not a surprise to me. KBH will likely win Dallas County in 2006 if she is either the Senate or Governor nominee. On the other hand, I doubt that Rick Perry will win Dallas County if he is the Republican nominee for governor next year. Posted by Byron LaMasters at May 31, 2005 10:58 PM | TrackBack

what are the odds of jim turner running for senate? Posted by: lonestar liberal at June 1, 2005 04:02 PMI have no idea what's going to happen. I know Turner has been looking at Gov or Senate. Think he would like to run for Senate. Folks are trying to get John Sharp to run for Senate as well. Don't know if he would like a rematch with Dewhurst and his endless sums of money. Dewhurst will beat Bonilla and Joe Barton if he gets in. Posted by: pc at June 1, 2005 06:20 PMWe need Ken Bentsen,John Sharp,Paul Hobby,Jim Turner and Charlie Stenholm on our ticket for various offices as well as a Hispanic and a woman. We need folks like Bentsen and Hobby who can self finance there races and Sharp and Turner who can raise money. Posted by: John DeLorme at June 1, 2005 10:22 PMWe need Jim Turner to run for governor. Chris Bell is a cool guy, but Turner would make a stronger candidate and he would appeal to Republicans. Ken Bensten should run for Comptroller or railroad commissoner. Charlie Stenholm should run for state senate & we should have Barbara Radnofsky as our Democratic nominee for Senator. Posted by: Ivan at June 2, 2005 11:17 PM
