May 04, 2005Juan Garcia Running for U.S. Senate?By Byron LaMastersThe man that Andrew dubbed in January the "Latino John Kennedy" now has a website. Many of us thought that Garcia would be a candidate for state representative against Gene Seaman, but Garcia apparently is aiming higher. Via Greg and Kuff. Can someone tell Garcia he 1) Needs a disclosure along the lines of "This site paid for by..." 2) The Federal Limits are now $2100/person, not $2000. He looks like he could be a great candidate, but he needs to act like he knows what he's doing. Posted by: Someone at May 4, 2005 12:09 PMIs this the state party's way of having another "balanced ticket" again in 2006? I wonder what Radnofsky is thinking. Posted by: Jonathan Steed at May 4, 2005 01:22 PMI think a lot of people were waiting for someone to get in the race who could beat Radnofsky ... could he be the guy? Posted by: Anonymous at May 4, 2005 01:47 PMWell, I'm still waiting. The field will certainly expand if/when KBH announces for governor (on both sides). Few people believe that any Dem can beat KBH, but anything can happen in an open seat situation. Posted by: Byron L at May 4, 2005 04:36 PMByron - Is Garcia even a Democrat? It doesn't seem to say on his web site. Posted by: Ed King at May 4, 2005 10:24 PMGarcia is a Democrat to my knowledge Posted by: Byron L at May 5, 2005 01:24 AMHe is definitely a Democrat. he was also Barack Obama's roommate at Harvard Posted by: David at May 5, 2005 01:37 PMI had the honor of meeting Mr. Garcia about 2 years ago while being a student at Del Mar College. I can honestly say that he is a very sharp-professional individual. Juan Garcia is more than a senate candidate, he is an inspiration. "Voting For Garcia, Is like Voting for Yourself." Posted by: Rowland Andrade at May 16, 2005 12:20 AMJuan Garcia is an inspiration to me. I was sick in the hospital and he came to visit me, promising to hit a home run for me in the second inning, as he played baseball at Harvard. He is a real man's man, and he has my vote Posted by: Milton Chamberlain at May 31, 2005 02:02 PM
