Sessions Needs Bush to Drag him to Victory

By Byron LaMasters

One GOP congressman in a non-swing state gets a last minute campaign rally with President Bush. Who is it?

Pete Sessions:

President Bush is coming to Dallas!!!

President Bush will be here for a late-night rally on his way to Crawford, where he will vote on Election Day.

Monday, November 1st
10pm
Southern Methodist University
Moody Coliseum
6024 Airline Drive
Dallas, Texas

I hope that Dallas Democrats will be outside with their Frost signs -- Bush would not be wasting election eve in Dallas if this race were anything but a dead heat. Frost can squeak this out, but only if all you guys in Dallas work your butts off to get out the vote tomorrow.

More at MyDD.

Update: Ok, comments say no Frost signs. The people on the ground in Dallas probably know better than I do, so listen to what the Frost folks are saying.

FROST SUPPORTERS!

Do not bring any Frost signs or t-shirts to the Bush appearance. We've spent a lot of time trying to convince moderate Republicans to vote for Martin. Don't do anything to fuck it up!

If you must protest, and I would recommend that your time and energy is better spent talking to Democrats about voting, do not involve the Frost campaign

Better yet, all you Republicans who support Frost like me; attend the rally and cheer on our President by waving Bush/Cheney and Frost signs. Shout four more years and Bush-Cheney-Frost. Dallasites can support a good President and a good congressman even if they are from different parties!!

FYI-
Bush held the same election-eve Dallas rally four years ago. Check the many clips from the outstanding film "Last Man Standing."

Good show of both Sessions and Bush's status on the eve of the election. Sessions needs a last minute stop by the Prez and Bush needs to campaign in his own home state.

Slogan for the Rally. "Bush for Sessions: I Like my Congressmen To Be As Dumb As I Am."

I think you are talking about 2002, the year Last Man Standing chronicles.

Correct -- LMS clips are from two years ago. Bush did Dallas and Houston in 2000 -- then set up for a major party outside the Governor's Mansion that night. That party petered out and lasted 36 days.
