March 27, 2004Texas Congressional OutlookBy Byron LaMastersOn primary day, I wrote a very hastily put together Texas Congressional Preview. One thing that I would like to do over the next week is write a "Texas Congressional Outlook" that would be modeled after the Senate Outlook on Daily Kos. I think that it would useful for a lot of people as Texas has arguably more contested congressional elections than any other state. I'll be examining national news sources (National Journal, RollCall, Congressional Quarterly, etc. - I don't have subscriptions, but I've received some information via emails), and local news sources and newspapers on the 32 congressional districts and elections in the state of Texas. I hope that this project will help people in Texas and across the country understand the dynamics of the congressional campaigns that will heat up across the state over the coming months. Anyway, if you'd like to help in any way, email me or comment on this thread. Thanks. Posted by Byron LaMasters at March 27, 2004 06:38 PM | TrackBack

Let me know how I can help. Posted by: seth at March 27, 2004 06:55 PMI'd like to complain about there not being a challenger to Ron Paul. Sure, Paul is the least bad Republican in our delegation, and I might even vote for him (normally I'd leave the ballot blank). But there are too many Democrats in CD14 not to have a candidate. Oh well. Other than that, I'll tell you Byron there's a lot of energy here in Galveston County to get Richard Morrison elected (and dump Tom DeLay); the new district includes a lot of north county and the county conventioners this morning was really fired up. Posted by: Jim D at March 27, 2004 09:08 PMWho are some top name Democrats in CD14 that can challenge Paul. I live in CD14 and was dissapointed that there was not even one name on the primary ballot. In my driving around today I did see a few Richard Morrison signs in the Clear Lake Area. I was happy to see thoes. Posted by: TC at March 27, 2004 10:54 PMByron, I'd be more than happy to do any necessary leg work out here in CD 11, (and 19). Unfortunately, it's gonna be a romp. Craddick and DeLay custom made this district for Conaway. And Raasch is keeping an embarrassingly low profile. Maybe I'll be able to send some good news about Charlie Stenholm instead.
