August 26, 2003More evidence we invaded the wrong countryBy Jim DallasThe Guardian reports that UN inspectors have found evidence of highly-enriched weapons-grade uranium in.... Iran. You know, the junior member of the Axis of Evil. VIENNA, Austria (AP) - U.N. inspectors found traces of highly enriched, weapons-grade uranium at an Iranian nuclear facility, a report by the U.N. nuclear agency says. Posted by: TX Pundit at August 26, 2003 10:51 PMAs of today (Tuesday) the number of American troops who have died in Iraq since Dubya declared the Iraq War over has exceeded the number who died during the "official" conflict. In March the pretext for invading Iraq was that the Iraqi régime possessed "weapons of mass destruction". Since none have been found, the administration has doctored its rhetoric to describe more amorphous "weapons programs" as our excuse for régime change. A few guided bombs directed at certain nuclear facilities in a fashion the Israelis did to the Iraqi's should solve the problem for a decade. What do we have to lose....they might hate us? they might send arms to our enemies? they might support terrorism? They are already doing all of the above. It is in our interest not to invade Tehran, but it is in our interest to surgically end their gains toward a nuclear weapon. Here's something no Democrat will want to be without. ;) Bush is asking Congress for more money for nuclear weapons -- yet he finds the possession of nuclear weapons by OTHERS to be good reason to have a war. The old "don't do as I do, do as I say" routine. I pray and pray and pray and pray that the U.S. people and U.S. power will grow up enough to realize that the REAL "superpower" is that which is mature enough to SET A GOOD EXAMPLE with proactive steps that help humanity and this great country rather than bombing, killing and maiming, and feeding the military and rich elite rather than the starving masses.
