John Courage: All the Stories You Need to Know

by: Phillip Martin on Fri Jun 30, 2006 at 12:49:08 PM CDT

(John just got front-paged on DailyKos. Welcome, readers! - promoted by Phillip Martin)

For those visitors coming in from Daily Kos, MyDD, and the ActBlue pages, here's a reference list of some of our BOR stories on John Courage.

  • Courage's letter to the netroots: Yesterday's letter to the netroots, which helped push Courage over the top into Governor Warner's Mapchangers contest.
  • Q&A with John Courage: Today's interview with Tracy Joan, also posted at MyDD.
  • A podcast with Senator Russ Feingold and John Courage, recorded at the University of Texas at Austin.
  • TX-21 Smith/Courage poll numbers that show, among other things, that only 31% of voters said that they would vote to re-elect Lamar Smith.
  • Smith admits that Courage is a serious challenge: BOR's own reporting on an e-mail sent out by Lamar Smith asking for help from his supporters, because he recognizes the serious challenge he faces in John Courage.
  • Smith's Walk of Shame: A copy of video footage where Lamar Smith, trying to get to a speech on the UT campus, is forced to slide through dozens of Courage supporters.
  • Links to media coverage about a Smith rally that Courage supporters crashed, refusing to let Lamar Smith get away with touting himself as an environmentalist.

Stay tuned to BOR for coverage on one of the most exciting congressional races across the country, and help volunteer or contribute to do all you can to help John Courage defeat Lamar Smith this November!

Courage is on FIRE. (4.00 / 3)
The Courage Campaign is on fire. I have never seen a race garner this much national support and local support. John is a busy man, with plenty of work to do, yet whenever I pick up the phone to call him, he answers.  Although I am in Georgia, I have tried keeping up with all the Texas races, since my residency has not changed. I am happy to hear things are going great on the home front.

I can't wait to have a progressive represent the 78704 (3.00 / 1)
It just seems wrong that South Austin is represented by Lamar Smith.

Courage is an excellent candidate, and his campaign team is top notch.  Keep up the good work!

78704
It's more than a zip code, it's a way of life.

For those not from Austin, 78704 is one of the most liberal areas of the city. "78704 Against the War" will give you an idea of a bumber sticker actually seen often in that part of town. And my goodness, to have it represented by Lame-R Smith is just a travesty.

Yes, but what would Treaty Oak have to say about it?
